Our Mission

The mission of Sierra Nevada Academy Charter School is to improve the quality of primary, elementary, and middle school experiences of the educational system by producing exemplary students in a cost-effective way.

Sierra Nevada Academy Charter School received its charter in April 1999. As outlined in the charter, our unique charter school model as required by NRS 386.520 targets several underlying goals:

  1. Innovative public education
  2. Progressive curriculum
  3. Improving opportunities for pupils to learn
  4. Encouraging the use of effective methods of teaching
  5. Establishing accountability of public schools
  6. Creating new professional opportunities for teachers
